Meet Sam

My name is Sam, I am a Person-Centred Counsellor.
I understand how difficult the decision to seek counselling can be through my own experience. You may feel unsure about whether it's the right move for your child and about how long they can continue to cope on their own.

There are possibly so many questions you may have - for example you may feel you and your child are a burden to family and friends and don't know who to turn to. I can offer a safe and confidential space to support your child in overcoming their difficulties.

Working together, I can help to identify their needs and help them to feel empowered. They might be worried about school and/or have Covid related anxieties which may impact day to day life. If so, I can help.
I am highly experienced working with children and young people, I have a background of working in Education Settings, Nurseries and Children's homes. I volunteered with Place2be and The Children's Society for several years so understand the kind of challenges which may arise. I am also a parent and grandparent.
Children and young people may find it difficult to talk about their fears, feelings and thoughts, so I offer alternatives through creativity and play.
I can be relied on to offer support in a non-judgemental way to help your child break down their problems and work through traumatic situations at their own pace helping them to find a more positive outlook to life by listening, understanding and accepting them for who they are.
